Strengths the inspectors named:
- A tenth consecutive Outstanding rating.
- A dynamic curriculum - including vocational courses - with an extensive extracurricular range.
- Highly effective safeguarding and child-protection practice, with comprehensively trained staff.
- Strong community ties, exceptionally high-standard buildings and facilities, and very high staff morale.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Arabic is the inspectors’ clear concern - Secondary attainment fell to Acceptable, with no improvement yet in Arabic as a first language.
Inclusion (students of determination): Very Good - 200 students of determination, supported by an experienced in-house inclusion team working alongside third-party therapists on site, with individual education plans, EAL provision and a wide range of pathways. Inspectors record that inclusion teachers and support staff are experienced in assisting individual students, that teachers’ understanding of differentiation has strengthened through workshops led by senior leaders, and that lesson plans now incorporate differentiation for students of determination - with the honest caveat that teachers are still improving delivery and ‘consistency remains a challenge’. All staff receive extensive personal development training including mental health first aid.
