What the inspectors said
Strengths the inspectors named:
- Part of the Emirates National Schools group, established to serve Emirati and Arab families with an international curriculum alongside Arabic and Islamic Studies.
- A large campus operation in Al Khawaneej with an established community presence.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Acceptable - the minimum the regulator expects, which for Emirati families carries particular weight, since KHDA has actively encouraged them to move from Acceptable-rated schools to Good-rated alternatives.
- This is one of the thinnest published records in the register: rather than manufacture detail, we say so. Read the full inspection report on the KHDA directory and treat a visit as essential.
- The questions to ask are specific: attainment and progress in English, mathematics and science by phase; how consistent teaching quality is between phases; what provision exists for students of determination and who leads it; and exactly what this year’s improvement plan funds.
Inclusion (students of determination): Weak - and the single most serious inclusion finding in this register. Inspectors state it plainly: ‘There is no inclusion leader. As a result, provision lacks a strategic direction, monitoring, challenge, and leadership support for staff.’ They add that the school’s identification processes are underdeveloped and that there are too many students whose learning needs are not being met. Read that against the requirement set out on our key-findings page: every private school in Dubai is required to run an inclusion support team led by a named inclusion champion. Two things are recorded in the school’s favour and both are real - the inclusion governor is described as committed to developing an inclusive ethos, and the admission procedures welcome students with more complex learning needs. But welcoming a child through the door is not the same as meeting their needs once inside, and inspectors have said so. A family whose child needs support should ask, before anything else, whether a qualified leader of inclusion has since been appointed.
