Strengths the inspectors named:
- Outstanding again - achievement in English, mathematics and science Outstanding across both Foundation Stage and Primary.
- Teaching judged Outstanding: expert subject knowledge, creative and imaginative lessons, very high expectations.
- Exceptional leadership and a deeply embedded culture of inclusion and wellbeing.
- Health, safety, child protection and safeguarding provision described as excellent.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Wellbeing data collection is not yet fully systematic - give students greater opportunity to lead wellbeing initiatives.
- Formalise the processes for parents to contribute to improvement planning.
Inclusion (students of determination): Outstanding - 61 students of determination supported by the ‘Oasis’ learning-support team through in-class and one-to-one sessions, with a High Potential Learners Programme for gifted students and EAL provision alongside. The school charges no additional fees for SEN provision, which is a significant differentiator from many peer schools at this fee level. Its published admissions position: JESS welcomes students of determination and students are not refused admission based only on their experience of SEND. Two honest notes - admissions are extremely competitive with waiting lists closed for most year groups, and this is a primary-only campus, so the secondary move, usually to Arabian Ranches, needs planning from the start.
