Strengths the inspectors named:
- The breakthrough: Very Good in 2023-24 after nine consecutive cycles at Good, with thirty-seven indicators improved across the six standards.
- Personal development Outstanding across all four phases - behaviour described as excellent, bullying very rare, and the school’s ‘I-me’ programme cited for strengthening relationships.
- Kindergarten the standout phase, with its wellbeing singled out by inspectors; science and STEM provision a headline strength.
- Parent partnership Very Good, with communication described as open and respectful.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Wellbeing overall sits at Good - in the report’s words, leaders ‘have not yet facilitated a shared vision for the wellbeing of all’, so planning isn’t yet built on accurate, current information.
- Assessment practices rated Good rather than Very Good across phases.
- A practical fit note: German is the language of instruction throughout - the right choice for German-connected families, a demanding integration path for others.
Inclusion (students of determination): Very Good for provision and outcomes for students of determination - above the school’s overall rating - with 61 students of determination identified at the 2024 inspection and inspectors recording that leaders and governors are highly committed to inclusive education. An Inclusion Support Team runs a special educational curriculum, on a favourable ratio of roughly 1:10. Three things a family must weigh, all published by the school or its inspectors. First, that special educational curriculum must be agreed with parents and comes at an additional cost. Second, entry involves placement testing and students achieving far below age expectations are counted as SEND candidates, so the assessment is consequential. Third, wellbeing is rated only Good, with inspectors finding that governors and senior leaders ‘have not yet facilitated a shared vision for the wellbeing of all’, which constrains planning - a notable gap in a school whose inclusion provision is otherwise strong.
