Strengths the inspectors named:
- Very Good in January 2024 - the breakthrough after more than a decade at Good.
- Outstanding Foundation Stage provision and strong IB Diploma outcomes, with a deeply embedded culture of inclusion and community explicitly highlighted by inspectors.
- Parents described in the report as highly supportive: senior leaders visible, families well informed, children safe and valued as individuals.
- Committed ownership investing in staffing, facilities and resources across a 2,266-student, hundred-nationality IB continuum with BTEC pathways.
What they asked the school to improve:
- The decade-plus at Good is the honest trajectory - ask what changed to earn the step up, and how it is being sustained.
Inclusion (students of determination): Very Good - 120 students of determination, just over 5% of the cohort, with inspectors recording strong systems for identifying both students of determination and those with particular gifts and talents, and ‘thoughtfully constructed individual plans’ guiding curriculum adaptations. Provision runs on a graduated Assess, Plan, Do, Review approach tracked through an Inclusion Register, with one-to-one IEPs, small-group intervention, in-class support, modified or reduced curriculum, inclusive technology, examination access arrangements, in-school screeners and partnerships with external therapy centres. IEPs are formally reviewed at least three times a year with input from parents and external agencies. An inclusion department and in-house sensory room sit alongside specialist EAL provision.
