What the inspectors said
Strengths the inspectors named:
- Very Good in 2023-24 - a genuine climb: Acceptable on its first inspection in 2015-16, two Good years, a slip back to Acceptable in 2018-19, then Good in 2021-22 and 2022-23 before this breakthrough.
- The only school in Dubai offering Advanced Placement, the IB Certificate, the French-English bilingual IB Diploma and a bilingual French International Baccalaureate with an American pathway - an unusually wide set of exit routes.
- Genuinely bilingual by design: equal instruction in French and English with subjects shared between native-speaking teachers, the French programme accredited through AEFE and the IB taught in English.
- Now expanding through the senior grades after years capped at Grade 6 - Grades 7 to 10 opened in August 2023 and Première in 2024-25.
What they asked the school to improve:
- The senior school is very new: upper grades have only just opened, so there is no established Baccalaureate or Diploma track record - ask what results exist and how many students sat them.
- The rating history is volatile - up, down and up again across a decade - so ask what is different this time, and who owns it for holding it.
Inclusion (students of determination): We have not found a separately published inclusion rating for this school in the sources we can verify, and we say so rather than infer one from its Very Good overall judgement. What the rating history does show is a school that has climbed - Acceptable in 2015-16, Good in 2016-17 and 2017-18, back to Acceptable in 2018-19, Good in 2021-22 and 2022-23, and Very Good in 2023-24. For a family whose child needs support the questions are therefore direct: how many students of determination are on roll, who leads inclusion, and what provision exists in the newly opened senior grades, which have only just been built out. See the special educational needs guide for the questions to ask on a visit.
Inspector summaries are being added school by school as each report is read - 221 of 230 so far, dated per cycle, never invented. A school without a summary yet is unread, not unjudged.

What we don't know about this school
Every other page on this site tells you what we have verified. This one tells you what we have not, because a register you cannot calibrate is worth less than one you can. We do not currently hold:
- its fees - this school has not published them
- whether it is co-educational, boys or girls
- how many children are on roll
- its facilities - sports, arts, science, library
- published exam results or university destinations
- what registration, transport, uniform and meals add to the fee
- the year it opened - the figure we held was wrong on every school we checked
None of it is guessed or filled in from a similar school. Ask for any of it using the form below and it moves up the queue - requests are how we decide what to collect next.
Ask this school a question - we'll do the asking
Tell us the year group, and we will ask Bilingual French International School what it costs, whether there is a place, and what the next step is. Then we send you what they say. Every answer we get is also checked into this school's record, so the next parent finds it already here.
Your details stay with us. We contact the school ourselves, and we do not pass your name or address to them, or to any agent, unless you ask us to. No school pays to appear in this guide, and none can pay to change what it says.
