Strengths the inspectors named:
- Good in 2023-24 - the continuation of a clear climb from an Acceptable rating in 2019-20, with several sub-domains now touching Very Good.
- Health and safety including child protection rated Outstanding, as is students’ personal development - a very positive environment of responsible attitudes, self-discipline and respectful relationships.
- Leadership rated Very Good - a grade above the school’s overall rating, and historically the strongest signal of where a school is heading.
- English achievement a particular strength in KG, Middle and Secondary, with very good science attainment higher up and Islamic Education progress improved to at least Good everywhere.
- National Agenda standards very good, with reading-age gaps closing after targeted NGRT training for teachers.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Increase the rigour of self-evaluation so leaders hold an accurate picture of strengths and gaps.
- Ensure all staff can interpret benchmark assessment data, and build every teacher’s capacity to support reading.
- Wellbeing sits at Good - effectively monitored, with the counsellor appreciated, but not yet a whole-school strength.
Inclusion (students of determination): Good - 78 students of determination supported through a push-in and pull-out model led by a Head of Inclusion, with five students identified as gifted and talented and eleven receiving English language learner support. Two commitments the school publishes and a family should hold it to: it does not charge additional fees for SEND provision, and it states it will not refuse a place to a child with SEND, offering priority admission to siblings of students with SEN requirements.
