What the inspectors said
Strengths the inspectors named:
- Good in February 2024 - a third consecutive Good since the school opened in 2019, and it was permitted to open right through from FS1 to Year 13 from the outset on the strength of its sister school’s reputation.
- ‘Outstanding understanding of Islamic values and awareness of Emirati and world cultures across all phases’ in the inspectors’ own words.
- A principal who is himself an accredited British Schools Overseas inspector, with over twenty years’ experience and four of his own children enrolled at the school.
- 130 teaching staff, mostly British, with 40 teaching assistants and three guidance counsellors, at mid-range fees of roughly AED 22,700-39,100.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Teacher turnover has been a long-standing concern and remains an issue in the most recent inspection record - ask directly what it is now, by phase.
- Independently gathered parent sentiment is mixed, averaging well below the level its inspection record might suggest - visit and ask current parents.
- Three cycles at Good: solid for a school opened in 2019, with the step up still to come.
Inclusion (students of determination): Holds the SEND Inclusion Award (SENDIA) for 2026-2028 - external validation covering early identification, adaptive teaching and partnership with parents, awarded after independent review rather than self-declaration. Published Inclusion and Gifted and Talented policies guide practice, with accommodations and curricular modifications monitored through formal agreements, and the campus itself designed to be accessible for people of determination. Two things to establish in writing before applying: the school states that some additional staff support may incur extra fees, and it does not describe itself as a specialist SEN institution. Its sister campus, Al Salam Private School, registers almost 19% of students as students of determination - among the highest proportions in the UAE - but that is a different school, and this one should be judged on its own provision.
