In context

Its mid-range fee is about 46 per cent above the median for British (NCfE) schools in this guide (AED 54,632). It is one of 22 schools in this guide currently rated Outstanding.

Worth comparing: Ranches Primary School (AED 50,436 to 61,643 a year) — a lower-fee option in the same area; Kings School Al Barsha (AED 54,000 to 98,000 a year) — a lower-fee school with the same Outstanding rating and curriculum.

These comparisons are computed from the verified data in this register, not editorial opinion.

What the inspectors said

Paraphrased from the last full DSIB inspection (2023–24 cycle) and its published record — read the complete report on the official KHDA directory.

Strengths the inspectors named:

  • Outstanding held across recent cycles — a large, well-established UK/IB all-through school of around 1,790 students, including 224 students of determination.
  • Consistently strong post-16 outcomes across the IB Diploma and BTEC routes underpin the sixth form’s reputation.

What they asked the school to improve:

  • Use the school’s quality-assurance and appraisal systems rigorously, objectively and accurately, and continue to improve outstanding levels of teaching.

Inclusion (students of determination): Outstanding — and the most comprehensively staffed inclusion operation documented in this register. Across both JESS campuses close to 400 students, roughly 15% of the roll, are registered as students of determination, supported by an inclusion team of 23 staff: Teachers of Inclusion, Independent Learning Support Assistants, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists. A further 452 students receive English as an Additional Language support, and 346 are identified as gifted and talented through the High Potential Learners Programme. Inspectors named the welcoming and inclusive provision for students of determination as a best feature of the school and recorded that it is very highly regarded by parents, delivered through the Oasis Centre and Essential Pathways curriculum — at no additional cost. And it proves the point this register keeps making: an IB Diploma average around 37 points, achieved while remaining proudly mixed-ability. See the special educational needs guide for the questions to ask on a visit.

Inspector summaries are being added school by school as each report is read — 169 of 169 so far, dated per cycle, never invented. A school without a summary yet is unread, not unjudged.
