What the inspectors said
Paraphrased from the last full DSIB inspection (2023–24 cycle) and its published record — read the complete report on the official KHDA directory.
Strengths the inspectors named:
- Good in November 2023 — the eleventh consecutive year at that rating, held since 2013–14.
- Students’ personal and social development rated excellent: deep appreciation of Islamic values and Emirati culture, strong environmental awareness, high personal responsibility and excellent relationships with staff.
- Kindergarten provision and outcomes Very Good, with improved Islamic Education and Arabic progress in middle school, improved high-school attainment and better Elementary science.
- An unusually generous senior curriculum — 36 elective subjects in high school, described by inspectors as broad and imaginative — plus Advanced Placement courses, a K-8 STEM programme and NEASC accreditation.
- A concrete, documented fix: the previous cycle found only a few teachers appropriately qualified; the 2023–24 report confirms all staff are now appropriately qualified and effectively deployed.
What they asked the school to improve:
- Some teaching remains didactic and expectations for more able students are not always sufficiently high.
- Use of assessment data to improve teaching and learning is not consistently secure across all phases.
- Teacher turnover of 15% is worth monitoring, and eleven cycles at Good means the step up has not yet come.
Inclusion (students of determination): Good — close to 60 students identified with additional learning needs. Inspectors record a systematic process for identifying students of determination and gifted and talented students, effective interventions enabling most students of determination to make consistent personal and academic progress, and a principal and governors upholding a strong commitment to inclusion seen in both policy and practice: students of determination are welcomed to the school and in all lessons. See the special educational needs guide for the questions to ask on a visit.
Inspector summaries are being added school by school as each report is read — 169 of 169 so far, dated per cycle, never invented. A school without a summary yet is unread, not unjudged.
